Challenges! And remember, if you do art for a Challenge,
Note it to the club as we would love to display it in our gallery!
CURRENT CHALLENGES
Artist Emulation Challenge
We learn to increase our skill often by studying those that came before. Take an artist of your choice and emulate your style to the best of your ability, taking into account their colors, subject matter, and motifs.
Old Art Redo Challenge-
As artists, we are in a constant state of evolution each time we draw. Have you ever had a piece that just didn't come out right? Take an old piece of yours that you feel you can do better now and redo it!
Abstract Identity Challenge
Abstract art can be the bane of an artist's existence. Yet, by the same token, creating abstract art can open your horizons to a whole new level of expression and discovery. Create a work utilizing abstract shapes, colors, and motifs which represent yourself. Your shapes can be objective (hearts, stars, etc) or non-objective (anything that's not a known symbol, random blobs), as long as it represents you.
Masterpiece Reproduction Challenge
Studying the masters of the discipline has been a long known method of learning their techniques. With that in mind, I challenge you to digitally or traditionally reproduce the work of any master artist you chose right down to exact detail! This challenge will help you to appreciate the dynamics of the processes the masters underwent in order to create their works.
You can recreate a traditional piece digitally if you'd like practice in making digital seem more traditional, or vice versa.
