ABOUT FREELANCERS
~freelancers is a club dedicated to those artists, amatuer and professional alike, who wish to learn more about commission art and share ideas, tips, and good fortune! The club will also act as a resource compiling profiles of commission artists for all to browse. We welcome artists of ALL skill levels who are interested in becoming freelance artists for hire.

DISCLAIMER: ~freelancers is not responsible for the quality and reliability of the work accessed through its listings. If you have trouble with a commission, it is best to contact the artist NOT the club.


JOINING
* We are open to all artists wishing to offer their artwork for sale, amateur and professional alike.
TO JOIN: Please send the club a Note which includes the info you will provide for your Artist Profile for future customers to review. Feel free to copy and paste this basic form, altering it to suit your needs or use your own profile setup. You may also provide a sample collage of your work to be used as your Profile's preview image, if you desire. (See example) NOTE: Deviations do not allow hyperlinking so please DO NOT include hyperlinked words in your profiles.


* To post icons:
Type the DeviantArt code : iconfreelancers : (without the spaces) in your journal.

To post a text link:
Type : devfreelancers : (without the spaces) into your journal or signature.


CLUB ACTIVITIES
* Artist Profiles
The club provides a growing list of Artist Profiles which presents information for those wishing to commission artists. This is a fast and free way to get more publicty as a commission artist!

Thinking of leaving freelancing temporarily? You do not have to leave the club if you are on a temporary haitus from freelancing. If you believe you will be unable to do freelancing for 3 months or more (but NOT permanently), you may note our Recruiter and let them know that you would like a note added at the top of your Artist Profile marking your inactivity. You will be in charge of altering your own status in your Artist's Alley. As long as you are only on temporary leave, your name will remain on all of our lists and you will remain a full member of the club.

* Forum Activities
Most of the clubs activites will happen via the club forum. All are welcome to lurk at the forum while only club members can participate in Art Duels, Challenges, Contests, and Collaborations within the Artist's Arena.

Join here. When joining, please use your DeviantART username.

* Artist Alley
Also, if you are a member, you may have your own section of the forum in the Artist's Alley where you can post your commission information and let people contact you personally. You will also be in charge of moderating your area of the Alley with Moderator control over your unique area of the forum. This is especially useful if you do not have your own webspace! If you are a club member and are interested in taking part in the Artist's Alley, please join the forum and contact the President by PM, email, or Note.

* Art Duels and Challenges
Art Duels and Challenges will take place at the club forum. Art Duels take place when an artist challenges another artist to draw a theme of their own suggestion. If the artist being challenged accepts and fulfills the Duel, they get to challenge the challenger to their own theme. The other activity, Challenges, are meant for the entire club and can be issued by any member. They involve issuing a themed art challenge via the forum to the entire club. Art Duels and Challenges can be displayed in the club's DeviantART gallery.

* Collaborations
On the forum, members can converse with other members about working together to complete artwork and the like. These collaborations can be displayed in the club's DeviantART gallery.

* Contests
The club will host contests through DeviantART which challenge the club members to a particular theme. Unlike Challenges, these can only be issued by the club Staff and may involve prizes!


STAFF
* Purpose of the Staff
The purpose of the Staff is to help the club run smoothly. You may contact the members of the Staff individually by note if you have questions for their specific areas of expertise.

* Duties performed by the staff

President-Answers general questions and affiliate requests, updates journal announcements and journal setup, manages the forum, resolves club issues.

Contest Mediator/Vice President-Uploads contest deviations, sets contest rules, and answers contest questions.

Recruiter-Answers joining requests, checks profiles for accuracy, uploads Artist Profiles, adds members to the Artist Profiles journal and updates the members count.

Submitter-Submits Art Duels, Collaborations, Challenges, and Contest Entries to the club.

* Becoming a Staff Member
If you are interested in becoming a Staff member, please contact the President or Note the club with your request to be a part of the project.


SUBMISSIONS
* Submission Guidelines
The club's DeviantART gallery is for Artist's Profiles, Art Duels, Challenges, Collaborations, and Contest Entries only. All deviations must follow DeviantART's etiquette. See CLUB ACTIVITES for more info.

* Submission Process
TO SUBMIT, simply Note the club with a link to your submission and the Submitters will submit your file asap. Make sure the subject of your note is "Submission" or it may be ignored!

* Policy on Favorites
The club will not add any work by its own members to its favorites list.
