Submission for the Freelancer's Image Design contest by =warinmysky

I spent quite sometime on it, and I know it's not perfectly symmetrical. I did it almost entirely traditionally freehand which of course, caused some uneven spots. About 1-2 hours for the sketch , then about the same amount of time to ink. I inked with Sakura Micron pens of course ^_^. Text was the only part done in PS.

The contest asked for a logo/ID that showcased some type of representation of the "freelance" field, having to do with something medieval (as that was where the term freelance originated?) lol anywho, I chose a shield as thats the first thing that comes to my mind when I hear "medieval." On the shield, the Star in the middle represents that light at the end of every freelancers tunnel to reach your goal of success. The top right and left panels with circles and rectangles represent the use of basic geometry within about all aspects of art. The bottom right panel's "bang" represents the awesome power that freelancers distribute with a sweet commission ^_^. Then the left panel doesn't really have any significance, just a random design The pencil and pen behind the shield obviously represent, the mastery of basic art mediums as to portray a degree of talent and understanding within the art world. Then the leaves I guess don't really have any representation...lol it just looked nice I thought. The scroll/flag surrounding the shield contains the words "Ambition" and "Creativity" that every freelancer possess's and uses within their day to day projects. Along with the name of the club that we represent, "FREELANCERS" ^_^

Anyway, sorry for the overly dramatic, and entirely too long text for you to read lol I got a bit carried away. Hope this was what the club was looking for

For now, I'm gonna leave it as just an inked version. If ppl feel it should be colored then I'll submit a colored version as well.
